The Lincoln Group has partnered with a fast-growing organization in search of an Assistant Controller, on a direct-hire basis, to join their exceptional team located in the Denver Tech Center. This position will work closely with our Controller in managing the team as well as prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations’ assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. We’re looking for someone who is dedicated to making sure these critical processes are effectively, accurately, and efficiently completed to support our business team in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Files tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies.

• Performs general cost and project accounting.

• Assist in preparation and review of monthly balance sheets, income statements, and statement of cash flows.

• Assists with maintaining the general ledger.

• Supervise AP team to ensure invoices are coded correctly, entered timely, paid timely, that AP accounts are reconciled, and that AP is closed monthly on schedule.

• Supervise the Cash/AR team to ensure that bank and receivable accounts are reconciled monthly, deposits are verified daily, credit cards are verified daily, and the daily cash forecast is accurate and timely.

• Reconciles cash disbursement accounts, payroll, customer accounts, and other financial accounts; manages accounts receivable collections.

• Post ADP payroll when received from HR/Payroll department weekly.

• Provides outside auditors with assistance; gathers necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit.

• Interfacing with Operations, CFO, accountants, and auditors.

• Collaborating in strategic planning and financial forecasting.

• Maintains knowledge of acceptable accounting practices and procedures.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

• Knowledge of general financial accounting and cost accounting.

• Familiar with Sales/Use, Motor Fuels, Property and Franchise Taxes

• Understanding of and the ability to adhere to generally accepted accounting principles.

• Ability to correctly prepare tax reports.

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software, and accounting software.

Education or Formal Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field, required.


• Experience in working with multiple domestic, legal entities.

• Experience with financial reporting requirements

• Minimum 5 years experience in accounting/finance/project accounting.

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on managerial accounting experience.

• Thorough, in-depth working knowledge of the internal accounting standards of small businesses, including customer invoicing, AR management, AP management, account reconciliations, payroll, sales tax remittances, accrual account maintenance, balance sheet schedules, and financial statement preparation.

• Assist in building the team.

• Evaluate team and assess each member’s role and responsibilities. Evaluate workload and what they are doing.

• Pull it apart and put it back together-then pivot to day to day.

• Aid in fielding requests.

• Help implement processes around new owners

• Someone who’s not afraid to roll up their sleeves and dig in. Very hands-on.

• Unify processes and procedures.

: $70-90K
