Corporate Controller Denver Colorado

The Lincoln Group is immediately seeking a Corporate Controller on Direct Hire basis for our client in the Distribution Industry located in Denver, CO. They need someone to step in and apply their professional accounting experience and education to put controls around processes, reporting, inventory, purchasing, and financials. The ideal candidate will have 15+ years of hands-on accounting experience and a successful track record of leading and mentoring a team. Candidates coming from the manufacturing, production, or distribution industry, having a wide range of exposure to several ERP systems, and strong proficiency in creating reports are required. The controller will be responsible for oversight of all accounting operations at multiple locations and is well-versed in the following responsibilities and skills.

 

Type of Hire: Direct Hire

Software: Microsoft Dynamics – Business Central (formerly Navision)

Location: Denver, CO

Work Schedule: M-F, flexible hours with options to work remote

Compensation: $150K – $200K DOE plus 15% + bonus

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

 

Responsible for the preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Design, implement and document internal controls, financial policies, and procedures to ensure asset protection commensurate with the changing scale of the business.

Prepare, manage, and review the monthly close process, including bank reconciliations, deferred revenue, intercompany transactions, fixed asset schedules, accruals, corporate credit card reconciliations, and departmental expense classifications.

Work collaboratively with business partners across functions to ensure timely, accurate, and complete capture of information and data flows between accounting systems, internal databases & applications.

Serve as backup for AP and AR processes and transactions.

Prepare, manage, and review the monthly close process, including bank reconciliations, deferred revenue, intercompany transactions, fixed asset schedules, accruals, corporate credit card reconciliations, and departmental expense classifications.

Act as a liaison between the business and auditors, documenting steps throughout these audits.

Assess current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement and proactively implementing new processes.

Coach and develop staff to improve their skills and support their professional growth.

Collaborating with the leadership team driving cohesion, best-in-class communication, and business results.

Responsible for overseeing the accounting related to mergers & acquisitions as well as post-acquisition convergence processes.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

 

Bachelors required, MBA plus

CPA Required

Big 4 or public accounting preferred

15+ years progressive accounting experience
