The Lincoln Group has partnered with a client in the energy industry in search of a Senior Director of Communications and Public Relations to join their team on a direct-hire basis! The Senior Director of Communications oversees the organization’s communication function including corporate and internal communications and Public Relations. Location:Superior, CO 

Work Schedule:Full-time in-office, with the potential to work from home 50% of the time 

Compensation: $160K – $190K DOE + 35% STIP 

 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES: 

 

·Manages a diverse group of field-based communications employees. 

·Reviews and edits messages to ensure that they are clear and thorough and seek to preserve the company’s image.  

·Defines performance metrics and measures the success of specific communications or campaigns.  

·Executes communication strategies designed to disseminate company information or messaging internally and externally.  

·Develops message content and channels of communication that reflect the information being communicated and the audience being targeted.  

·Assists in the selection and implementation of communications-related tools or infrastructures.  

·Public Relations—Responsible for developing and executing PR strategies that support the company’s strategic initiatives and long-term strategy. Manage and respond to media inquiries.  Support company reputation by increasing positive media coverage through story pitching, events, and thought leadership content.  Oversees media monitoring and development of media kits. Ensures the company website is professional, up-to-date, and functioning as intended. Oversees the company’s social media strategy.  

·Internal Communications—Works with HR and executives to develop and execute an internal communications strategy.  Serves as primary communications support for HR leadership and ensures internal messaging is consistent with corporate strategy. Creates opportunities for two-way communication between corporate and field locations.  

·Crisis Communications—Works cross-functionally to develop, coordinate and manage a crisis communication plan. Manages micro and macro communication crises as needed.  

·Creative Design—Leverage a variety of content formats to produce highly engaging multimedia content, including written, video, photography, and graphic design for internal and external audiences. 

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:  

·A minimum of 8 years of experience in corporate communications with demonstrated experience working for clients with a multi-state or national presence. 

·Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. 

·Demonstrated experience in drafting, designing, and assembling a broad variety of electronic and hard copy media, material, and presentations.  A portfolio of representative past work product examples will be necessary in the evaluation process. 

·Demonstrated experience managing personnel or outside media consultants and resources.  

·Demonstrated experience managing and pitching to regional and national media. 

·Experience communicating with diverse audiences including local communities, politicians, banking, and industry.  

·Experience establishing departmental policies, practices, and procedures that have a significant impact on the organization. Demonstrated experience developing and executing KPIs.  

·Experience managing multi-stakeholder high-profile communications campaigns. 

·Experience managing multiple assignments simultaneously, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines. 

·Excellent communication and presentation skills providing the ability to communicate effectively with members at all levels of the organization.  

·Prior experience in energy, or related industry, preferred. 

·Must demonstrate strong writing and editing ability—writing sample required.

·Excellent oral and written communication skills, with demonstrated abilities to translate ideas into action. Persuasive communication skills.  

·Must be assertive, take initiative and be able to propose alternative strategies to meet company demands.
